I have looked at all of your work, thanks to the facebook poster that is circulating. I am a fan...

I love the look and feel for this image. There is a solace in the woman's face that is strong. I am not quite sure what you intention is with the composition. The immediate impact is the obvious, but then I am drawing to her face then the child. If that is your intention congrats you are successful in accomplishing that. However your byline leads me think about the woman more so than the striking situation. So my I wants more emphasis on her face. Not too much just more subtle emphasis to balance everything with the boat. Then that leaves the child.

I hope you find this helpful for a critique. I am no one of any importance, but i have worked with displaying art, teaching art and creating art for many years. Either way I love the piece and your work Congrats I am following your work!
